The material characteristics of tungsten steel arc milling cutters mainly include the following aspects:
1. High hardness and strength
       Tungsten steel is an alloy composed of hard phases such as tungsten carbide (WC) and bonding phases such as cobalt (Co). Tungsten carbide has a high hardness, reaching HRA90-95, which is much higher than ordinary steel. This allows tungsten steel arc milling cutters to easily cut various metal materials, including alloy steel and stainless steel with high hardness.
      Cobalt, as a bonding phase, firmly binds tungsten carbide particles together, endowing tungsten steel with high strength and enabling it to withstand significant cutting forces. Under high-speed and heavy-duty cutting conditions, it is less prone to fracture or chipping.
2. Good wear resistance and corrosion resistance
      The microstructure of tungsten steel is dense, and tungsten carbide particles are small and evenly distributed. During the cutting process, it can effectively resist wear, and the wear rate is much slower than ordinary tool materials.       Red hardness refers to the ability of cutting tools to maintain hardness and cutting performance at high temperatures. Tungsten steel has better red hardness and can generally maintain high hardness at high temperatures of 500-600 ℃, which makes it perform well in machining methods that generate a large amount of heat, such as high-speed cutting and dry cutting.
4. Good cutting performance
      The hardness and wear resistance of tungsten steel arc milling cutters enable them to maintain a sharp edge during cutting, and the cutting edge can quickly cut into the workpiece material, reducing the generation of cutting force and cutting heat.
